Ukraine Urges Microsoft's Xbox, Sony's PlayStation to Leave Russian Market

Ukraine has enlisted the help of the world's largest gaming companies in its latest move to put pressure on Russia to end its invasion of the nation.

Fedorov turned to Twitter on Wednesday to ask Microsoft's Xbox and Sony's PlayStation service Russian users to quit. You "should [leave] the Russian market" if you uphold human principles, he stated.

Fedorov also sent a letter to all game developers and esports platforms, encouraging them to temporarily ban Russian and Belarusian users and to cancel any events in Russia and Belarus, which has cooperated with the Kremlin in the invasion.

Afterwards, Fedorov requested that many game development companies, including Electronic Arts (EA), Ubisoft (UFI), and Riot Games (ROOT), close their Russian offices. "There are currently bombings by Russian forces in Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of Ukrainian citizens. It's time to put an end to this "He composed a piece of writing.

A spokesperson for each of these companies has been contacted for comment, and we'll be sure to update this article when we hear back.

In an effort to stoke public anger and urge Russians to protest their government's invasion of Ukraine, Fedorov made the plea days after he called on Apple to stop selling products and services in Russia.

It's not apparent if Fedorov's request had any impact on the company at this point. However, the corporation declared on Tuesday that it had begun to cease goods sales in Russia due to the situation in the Ukraine. Additionally, Apple has halted exports from the country, which means that third-party dealers will have to get their items through unauthorized methods.

Fedorov also wants Apple and Google to stop allowing Russians to download their apps from their own app stores. Until yet, it appears that Apple has not blocked the iOS App Store from Russia.

Meanwhile, Fedorov has called on SAP and Oracle to suspend all Russian business. There are also no upgrades for Oracle's products in Russia until the conflict is addressed.
